Truth. Justice. Minesweeper.

The Surefire story was in the Moon this morning, just like he told us. Apparently Surefire, until yesterday, was a real-estate agent named Jim Kacznyth. The reporter, Calhoun, had all kinds of surveillance accounts of Kacznyth, say, going into a building and Surefire coming out. Sometimes it was kind of circumstantial but there were a few where the only thing I could say was, "Yeah, she nailed him on that one." Also there were a couple of pictures of him both in and out of costume, and you could tell it was the same guy.

And now it's all over the news. The other papers, the radio stations, the TV stations, they're all trying to get in on it. I've seen interviews with Kacznyth's family and coworkers; none of them had a clue and none of them know where he is now. The thing I haven't seen is someone speaking up and saying, "Maybe it's not a good idea to drive the superheroes into hiding."

I was up until three in the morning last night pretending to be John Caruthers and buying a... I've already forgotten the name. The Hyper-Erotic Cream Cheese Cannon, or whatever Cruickshank called it. I was just signing stuff and handing over a briefcase; someone else was arranging the shipping.

I didn't have a nightmare last night about being a cockroach. So that's a good sign.
